A new addict!

This is my friend Karen. Check her out - can you guess why she's all smiles? She has a PILE of bead catalogs in front of her...poor thing! She's a goner for sure ;)
Wanna know the coolest thing about my friendship with Karen? There are many cool things, but the best? The BEST is that she was my 5th grade teacher! wow. Turns out we live a couple of miles apart (in an entirely different area than when she was teaching me to give oral reports  ) and we have a friend in common. The world is tiny. Today we worked on some of her jewelry that needed tuning up and her grandaughter and my daughter (the same age) played together! How wild is that?

I have a new auction up today - *Jazz* - please go look. I love these beads! Posted by Picasa

Hello!

Fall is here! So that means that there is some hope that the weather will improve...right? I don't know how much longer I can bear these 95 degree days!
Sorry I've been so quiet - I had a birthday and over the last few years that has made me a little shall we say "antisocial" for the duration? When did that happen? I used to LOVE my birthday... huh.
The auctions have been going well - thanks! I appreciate the support :) Don't be shy about asking for custom work. I'm always happy to take a stab at your ideas!
Halloween isn't even here yet, and I have all of the Christmas colors out on my workbench. It feels weird, but the beads are coming out pretty cute. At least I can pretend it's cold outside while I sit in front of the torch, forming molten glass into snowmen
New auctions maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday?

too much fun

Honestly, I have to say that Halloween is my favorite time of
year! I like Halloween stuff that is kinda silly - not the
scary stuff so much. So I guess that's why my beads look this way ;) This necklace was comissioned by an old friend of mine. I sure hope she loves it!

I don't make a lot of necklaces and I am suprised at just how difficult it is to get a nice picture. I'm a bit of a hack with the camera as it is (pretty obvious, yes?). So please excuse the swinging in the breeze picture and the flower pot picture....but at least you can see the beads!

Please feel free to leave comments here. I'd love to hear from you.

Don't forget to take a look at the auctions that are running now - some end Thursday and some Saturday (I think).

BOO!

Did I scare you??? I love Halloween and making beads for the occasion :)
The fangs are a first!
They're on eBay.

Grrrrr! Another fall colors favorite - Tiger rounds. Ten beads, the two on the bottom in this picture are slightly larger than the others. Gives a little extra weight when your designs need to balance.
Also on eBay.

From the Haunted Beadbox....over 100 beads that have no place to live. Ok, so the beadbox isn't haunted exactly, but these are the beads that haunt me. About once a year the extras and leftovers in the box get a little overwhelming and start to make me feel guilty about allowing them to collect dust.... This batch is going straight to eBay! Happy Long Weekend!

We have just made it back home from a weekend in the foothills. It's nice to go up, but I think it may be even better to get home! The nice thing about the house in the hills is that it's really close to Arrow Springs. I took a little field trip over there and got a handful (ok, an armload) of glass and tools. SUCH a great feeling to restock! This time I mostly bought Bullseye glass, so we'll have to see what becomes of that. They have some really nice colors. Lots of pinks that look very interesting.
Please take a look at the two auctions I have going. Two very simple and classic bracelets! Also, go take a look at what Lori and Kim are up to. They never disappoint!
